I believe there are changing seasons in life that can lead us to fulfill our calling. One thing that remains a constant in the many different seasons in my life is organizing and visual order. Not only has it remained a necessity, but a passion as well. From the necessities to maintain order and function in my responsibilities, to educational pursuits and work experiences, to hobbies in my free time, organizing continues to be the foundation of it all, even back to childhood.
As a young girl, my most prized possessions were my mix-tape collection that I labeled alphabetically, and listed the songs with artist in the cassette inserts, my Trapper Keeper, (yes, I’m dating myself here) and anything craft or office supply related! I also enjoyed rearranging my bedroom frequently. As I got older, these remained and my cassette collection expanded into a CD collection, then to a vast digital music library as technology advanced. My photography and scrap-booking hobby expanded to digital as well over the years. I enjoy having order to and keeping these MANY boxes and digital files of photos organized. Rearranging my bedroom expanded later on into a love of decorating my home both inside and out along with basic landscaping and DIY projects. I’ve done several home interior paint projects, staged my home to put on the market, downsized, and I've enjoyed preparing for and having several of my own yard sales over the years prior to each packing and moving experience.
As far as work experience, one thing is for certain. I am a very people and project oriented person with a love of before and after effects starting from my very first jobs in serving and retail. I enjoyed organizing items on shelves and displays at Michael’s/MJDesigns, working with my hands in a fast paced environment bar-tending and serving, and later on the relationships I built with the women I trained in my 8 year career as a Fitness Specialist and Certified Personal Trainer. I liked creating client forms, performing needs assessments, tracking progress data, designing programs and keeping client folders maintained and organized! Personal Training and Professional Organizing are synonymous in many ways. PT is helping others prosper with a more functional body, mind and spirit, while PO is helping others prosper by creating a more functional space, which results in a healthier, clearer mind and spirit. With both, needs assessments are performed, goals are set, progress is tracked, guidance and motivation are given, and both should offer a non judge-mental listening ear along the way. I combine my skills, experience, and expertise in these two areas to offer what I would call your "personal professional organizing trainer" services!
I obtained my Associate of Arts degree from Tarrant County College and a career diploma in Graphic Design with honors from Ashworth College. My education and experience in graphic design projects include using the fundamental elements of design concepts to create visual and spatial relationships. Some of these same design concepts are used with organizing a space to do the same for not only more functionality, but visual appeal as well.
Apart from formal education, work experience, and hobbies, the necessity of keeping order to years of paperwork, mental responsibilities and scheduling as a mother raising a child and now an adult with special needs, continues to remain one of my biggest challenges, proudest accomplishments and greatest life lessons. I have personally worked through the legal processes as a client in the areas of family law, obtaining guardianship, and special needs planning. As challenging as it can be at times, this journey has instilled in me what I believe are the most important character traits in life. These are at the core of my code of ethics in business, and also what I strive to practice in my personal life as well. Unconditional acceptance, kindness, compassion, empathy, patience, loyalty, persistence, resolve, and a listening ear are what I truly aspire to give as I am “Helping Others Prosper Efficiently.”
